Reflection:
- How can we use interactive mockups to get insight into player interaction and experience?
- How can we, with our interactive mockup, bring the game to life in a way that highlights its core experience and interaction with CGJ theme, cultural heritage, and values?
Using mockups, we can observe how players navigate through the game and see what they are most excited/confused/unsure about. We want an engaging, interesting and easy to understand game, so we need feedback for users to improve their experience.
By immersing players in a dark, mysterious atmosphere where art and storytelling merge. It highlights the core experience, restoring haunted paintings, uncovering hidden stories, and solving a mystery. Through colors, sound, and interaction, players don’t just explore - they engage deeply with cultural heritage. The mockup can show how AR turns static art into a living narrative. Players become both detectives and preservers of forgotten voices.
Feedback:
They really liked the whole game idea and told it is really interesting if we are able to implement everything as we imagine. They have noted that, choosing one of three paintings at the beginning was confusing, the selections didn't seem consistent and little unclear. The mystery element—finding clues to identify the killer—was appreciated, with one reviewer mentioning that the objective of the game was clear and could be quite engaging.
Once users figure out the mechanics and storyline, the experience becomes more understandable and enjoyable. The concept of walls becoming invisible and hidden elements revealing themselves when approached was found exciting. However, the current Unity scene was too simple and lacked engagement or many elements, implying the need for more interactive elements.
They mentioned they have learned something new about the paintings featured in the game which indicates some of our EU values. They expressed difficulty in providing detailed feedback since the project was still in its early stages and lacked sufficient content.
Overall, the reviews suggest that the idea itself was considered interesting and full of potential, especially if developed further into a complete experience.
